Behavioral Health Services

DCDHS offers and funds a wide variety of services to meet the needs of individuals that experience challenges related to mental health and substance use disorders.   Behavioral health services are person-centered and individualized and assist individuals with achieving their self-selected goals.  Services offered include counseling, medication management, crisis intervention, peer support, residential services, vocational support, and case management.      

The Behavioral Health Resource Center (BHRC) is a resource center available to help any Dane County resident navigate mental health and substance abuse services and supports in Dane County.  The BHRC offers information and assistance to all residents despite insurance status, financial status, age, identity, ability, or legal status. 

Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) is a voluntary, community-based, Medicaid program that is available to Dane County residents of all ages that need treatment or support related to a diagnosed mental health and/or substance use disorder. CCS offers a wide array of psychosocial rehabilitation services including case management, medication management, psychotherapy, peer support, substance abuse treatment, skill development, physical health monitoring, employment-related skill training, diagnostic evaluations, and recovery support services.  

24-Hour Crisis Intervention:  (608) 280-2600  Crisis intervention is provided through the Emergency Services Unit at Journey Mental Health Center.
