If you’re convicted of an Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) offense, part of your court order will include undergoing an alcohol and other drug assessment.
To schedule your assessment, Dane County residents should contact the Journey Mental Health Center’s Clinical Assessment Unit. The phone number is (608) 280-2630.
Once the assessment is complete, you will receive a driver's safety plan. If that driver's safety plan requires you to go through treatment, there are many agencies to choose from. Below is a list of area providers who collectively accept most types of insurance. Many also offer services for fees based on your income. To meet the conditions of your driver's safety plan, you must complete treatment with a provider included on this list. Failure to do so could result in the need to complete additional treatment.
